Carlton Hotel Renovation Update – April 25, 2025

Our Inspiration:

Our renovation is guided by the theme of the Arcadian Guild, a tribute to Atascadero’s origins as a garden city and its heritage as a community of makers and artisans. We are creating a boutique hotel that’s wine country adjacent yet proudly rooted in Atascadero’s creativity, history, and vibrant local spirit.

Here's What's Happening:

Lobby Floor:

In February, we installed a stunning new lobby floor featuring a custom-designed geometric pattern crafted from Italian marble. This one-of-a-kind design is nearly complete, with a final section near the fireplace being finished this spring.

Stairways:

The stair risers leading to the restaurant and main staircase will be enhanced with either a carpet runner or new tilework. Final designs and timing are still in the works.

Elevator Cab:

In the next month, our elevator cab will be remodeled with new stone flooring, fresh wall finishes, and plans for a future mural to add even more character.

Lobby Furniture & Lighting:

New lobby furniture and lighting fixtures have been ordered and are scheduled to arrive in June, creating a warm, welcoming, and luxurious atmosphere.

Guest Room Renovations:

Our third-floor guest rooms are currently undergoing a full renovation, including new flooring, painting, lighting, drapery, bedroom furnishings, and refreshed bathrooms with all-new fixtures.

• The first phase of rooms will be completed by early May, with the rest of the third floor wrapping up by the end of May.
• Renovations will then continue on the second floor, thoughtfully timed to minimize disruptions during our busy summer season.

Ground Floor Expansion:

Pending final city approvals, we will soon begin construction on nine additional guest rooms on the ground floor and two new rooms on the second floor. This phase is anticipated to start later this summer.

Restaurant & Distillery:

Exciting news — plans are underway to remodel our restaurant space and introduce a fully operational distillery on-site. We hope to share more updates on this project very soon!
