As we approach the finish line of this remarkable transformation, we remain guided by the spirit of the Arcadian Guild — a tribute to Atascadero’s origins as a garden city and to the artisans, makers, and growers who shaped its creative soul. The reimagined Carlton is becoming a sanctuary of craft, community, and hospitality — rooted here, grown on imagination.
Recent Milestones
Arrival Experience Complete:The arrival journey through our new lobby is now fully realized. Guests will be greeted by a warm, design-forward space blending Italian marble flooring, natural textures, and custom-crafted furnishings that embody the Arcadian aesthetic.
Our guest rooms are also complete — redesigned with new flooring, ambient lighting, custom furniture, and refreshed bathrooms — providing a timeless blend of comfort and craft across every floor.
Construction in Progress
We are currently completing several key areas:- Restaurant & Lounge – This centerpiece of the Carlton’s food & beverage experience is taking shape, soon to become the social heart of the hotel.
- Distillery – Construction is actively underway, including the installation of fermentation tanks and the still, marking the beginning of the Carlton’s next era of craft spirits.
- Arcadian Wellness Studio – Our fitness and wellness area is being finalized to provide guests with a tranquil space for movement and restoration.
- Back Porch Bakery Refresh – A soft renovation is in progress to enhance this beloved local landmark while preserving its authentic charm.
Looking Ahead
We are on track for completion and brand conversion in the first quarter of 2026, officially joining the Tribute Portfolio by Marriott family. This milestone will mark a new chapter for the Carlton Hotel — one that honors its storied past while stepping confidently into its next century of hospitality.
